Re: Request to hire Maintenance III and budget extension
Last year the maintenance department was authorized to hire a maintenance IIIosition to work
fairground's location

This position would answer to Chris and where he may supplement the facilities staff from time
to time, the job description states the focus of the position is at the fairgrounds and should be
under the same budget as the groundskeepers and other maintenance positions at the fairgrounds.
(The fairgrounds Directors budget)
The expected cost for this position is approximately $45,816 to $48,600 per year (benefits not
included)
This position was approved but neither Jim nor I remembered to carry this forward in the 2021
budget. Respectfully I am asking for the approval to hire a maintenance IIIp osition for the
Fairgrounds and for a budget extension to fund the position under the fairgrounds budget with

Budget extension requested and approved in the 3/16/2021 consent agenda should be $78,000
This would be the amount of a maintenance 3 and their benefits combined using the top end of the bad and step scale.
