Re: Out -of -State Travel Request Fire Marshal and Chief Deputy Fire Marshal
Commissioners -
Please accept this request for out-of-state travel for the Grant County Fire
Marshal, Nathan Poplawski and the Grant County Chief Deputy Fire Marshal
(soon to be hired) to attend the NFPA 921 Fire Investigator and Certified Fire
Investigator training to be held in Salt Lake City,, UT from July 26 through July
9, 2,021{
These are required certifications for the two positions and- represent the closest
geographic opportunity for the employees to acquire the certifications.
Anticipated costs are as follows:
Conference Registration 2@$775.00 � $1550.00
Airfare (as of April) 2@$300.00 - $600,00
Hotel Per Diem Rate (GSA) is $128/night = $640.00 x2 = $1280.00
Daily Per Diem Rate (GSA) is $56/day - $336.00 x2 - $672.00
Total Estimated Costs (less fees, taxes, etc) � $4100-00
There is currently $8500.00 allocated for travel in, the Building and Fire Marshal
budget, although this represents a considerable portion of the budget item, this
is required training for these two positions and I respectfully ask for your
approval. I am available for any questions you may have.
