2) Courts:
L OFFENDER/DIVERSION: All civil and criminal matters are still being held via WebEx, and we only
have in person court hearings for Dispositions and Trials. Criminal and diversion referrals are
currently up to date.
ii. TRUANCY: Nothing new has been filed since the school year ended, but we did have some dismissals
due to youth turning 18, or jurisdiction expiring at the end of the school year. We currently have
116 active petitions, 101 total stays, 124 stays filed this school year, 63 stays lifted and sent to court
this school year and 40 contempt of court filed this school year.
DEPENDENCY: The dependency unit is also doing regular docket hearings, via WebEx.
Our dependency unit currently has 227 active cases.
3) Martin Hall: We had two incidents with Martin Hall this month. The first one occurred on August Stn,
where the standby officer had to wait Over 8 hours due to transportation issues. After my Juvenile
Service Manager contacting Martin Hall, I felt that we were not a priority until I got involved.
The second occurrence was on August 19, 2022, where my staff waited for 7 hours for transportation
to arrive.
In these two instances, I contacted the Martin Hall Administrator trying to get solutions to our
transportation problems, and he stated that they just hired new staff members that would be able to
alleviate our transportation problems.
4) Administration:
I. A travel allowance Claim form was submitted to the consent agenda for me to attend the WAJCA Summer
Conference and Executive Board Meeting in Chelan, September 12 —15, 2022.
5) Needs of the Department
I. 1 am working with HR resources trying to revamp the Guardian Ad Litem Administrator position or
create a new position instead. Matt Boyce, Guardian Ad Litem Administrator sent me his letter of
resignation via email. Matt's last day actually working in the office was August 11th, he is currently
using leave through September 15th date of separation. Matt has a caseload of 70 kids that
currently is being absorbed by the GAL unit. It is crucial for me to hire as soon as possible to alleviate
the heavy caseload Matt was carrying amongst the GAL unit.
11. Sally Port Gate status update: On August 15th, our sally port stopped working and was not opening.
F&M were able to fix our gate the next day and our sally -port vehicle gate is once again operational.
