While testing the equipment in the kitchen at the Work Release building to make sure it is
operable for the Ephrata School District the refrigerant compressor for the walk in freezer was
found to be seized up. The cost to replace the compressor is $5650.22, this includes labor and tax.
The cost for this purchase will come from Facilities and Maintenance repairs fund
001.112.00.0000.518304800 which has a balance of $998,307.00.
On February 14th the Central Services Director, Tom Gaines, contacted the Board of County
Commissioners Chair, Rob Jones, and received approval to proceed with arranging this repair to
make sure the walk-in freezer is in operation for the Ephrata School District use, which is
planned to begin March 1, 2023. The repair will occur the week of February 20th.
