Vasquez, Clerk of the Board Sam Castro, Public Works Director Sam Dart, Assistant Public Works Director Keith Elefson, County Engineer Brittany Lutz, Public Works Public: See attached 1:30 p.m. The Commissioners held an Open Record Public Hearing to consider an amendment to the Solid Waste Management Fund Disposal Fee, Exhibit B. Sam Castro, Public Works Director, gave a brief synopsis on the proposed changes. Waste Type 3/1/21 6/01/21 Comments Garbage tipping fee (loose) —per cubic yard cry $56.00 Less than %2 cubic yard —per load $28.00 Unsecured Load Fee Passenger vehicles $5.00 $5.00 Trucks over three cubic yards $15.00 $15.00 Appliances Small appliances/Metal items —p�&F +te4i4 $4�3 Included in garbage tipping fee above. Small appliances/metal items are not charged per item. Instead, they are included in the volume measurement above (less than %Z cubic yard or per cubic yard). Large Appliances- %cubic yard or more �3 $28.00 each Refrigerators, Freezers, AC Units $7-.2-5 $35.00 each Animals Animals (under 50 pounds) —per animal $4--9-3 $5.00 Animals over 50 pounds will be received at the landfill by appointment only. Tires Tires (35"' or less in height) —per tire $4-.59 Included in garbage tipping fee above. All tires are included in the volume measurement above (less than %z cubic yard or per cubic yard). Truck tires —per tire �.gg Tractor/Implement tires —per tire � Heavy Equipment Tires —per tire SAA The Disposal Fee amendment is being requested because based on cubic yard, not cents. The Paradigm Software has a rounding issue within the accounting system and therefore it creates inaccurate transactions. This will allow for better accounting. A motion was made by Commissioner Jones, seconded by Commissioner Stone, to close the public comment portion of the hearing. The motion passed unanimously. A motion was made by Commissioner Stone, seconded by Commissioner Jones to approve the amendment as presented. The motion passed unanimously.
