RE: Selection of Architect for Fairgrounds Bathroom Project
Central Services performed an informal RFQ to select an Architect for the bathroom to be
designed and constructed between the 4H and Commercial buildings at the County Fairgrounds.
The project is small but contains numerous technical issues that we did not feel comfortable
deciding upon without the input of an Architect who could detail some of the needs including
sanitary and storm drainage, power requirements, and fire code issues too name just a few.
We received two submissions: Loofburrow & Wetch associates from Yakima and MJ Neal and
associates from Wenatchee.
In reading the submissions from both firms it was apparent that MJ Neal had the experience we
were looking for in this project and we recommend to the Board this section and ask that we be
approved to enter contract negotiations with MJ Neal and Associates.
The funding for the architect will be paid from the professional services budget within Facilities
and Maintenance.
