The Grant County Health and Wellness Committee (HWC) receives financial data regarding the
Health Reserve Fund from both the Grant County Accounting office and health program broker HUB
International. HWC members understand that differences in timing and accounting methods
between the two sources mean that the total figures do not match exactly throughout the year.
At a recent HWC meeting, committee members expressed interest in reconciling the two data sources
on an annual basis. A motion was made that once a year, following the submission of the Grant
County health program report to Washington State Risk Management., the Health and Wellness
Committee will reconcile the Health Reserve Fund financial reports of HUB and Grant County. Fifteen
committee members voted in favor of the motion, and no members voted against.
A subcommittee of HWC members would form to evaluate and reconcile the reports. The
subcommittee may need technical assistance from Human Resources and the Accounting office to
gather the appropriate data or interpret reports.
Thank you for considering our recommendation. Please let me know if you have additional questions
or would like additional details.
Respectfully,
Rebecca Martinez
Chairperson
