Grant County has determined that employee grievances are appropriately held in executive session
under RCW 42.30.110(i)(f) states: To receive and evaluate complaints or charges brought against
a public officer or employee.
It further identifies that: However, upon the request of such officer or employee, a public hearing
or a meeting open to the public shall be conducted upon such complaint or charge.
The Grievance Hearing commenced at 2:00 PM with a discussion of the employee's desire to hold
the hearing as an open session or executive session. Mr. Vinnedge advised that we hold the
discussion in executive session and Mr. Bessett agree.

Minutes are not maintained regarding the actions during an executive session.

Following the end of the executive session it was announced that the Board had taken no action
during the session. Per article 10.6 Step 2 of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, the
Board shall issue a written decision within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of the grievance
hearing.
