Re: Out of State Travel
There has been discussion with the Board well prior to the 60 -day guideline for an out of state
travel request that is not a typical request. The Board has provided its intent to approve the travel
but nothing formal has been submitted until now.
The trip involves a long list of personnel that are included in this request but will need to
individually submit their out of state request accounting for the costs of the trip. Some will have
a longer trip than others. Group one travel: February 5th, 2023, and February 10th, 2023, (6 days),
Group Two: February 8, 2023 -February 10, 2023, (3 days)
For group "one", the trip will be first to Atlanta GA for the AHR EXPO and convention which
itself is "no -cost" for government employees, and a meeting (and tour) with the Automated
Logic corporation who is a sole source vendor and who stands to have a significant impact on the
entirety of the jail and LJB project. The group will leave Atlanta afterward and travel to
Jacksonville Fla. to meet with group "two" who will be touring the jails.
The expected cost for group one is approximately $2,000.00 per person and includes all travel
costs. approximately $1,000.00 for group one. This will be further broken down once all travel
arrangements are finalized. Group two will be significantly cheaper as there will be no trip to
Atlanta and fewer days of travel. A breakdown is attached
