Their current kitchen will be closed for a remodel, leaving the district without many options to meet the district's needs regarding the school lunch programs. The County was approached by the district inquiring about the possibility of using the kitchen at the currently closed Work Release facility near Public Works. A tour that included Commissioner Cindy Carter, Central Services, and school district staff was held. The district would need the kitchen as early as April of 2023 extending through July of 2023. This is based on scheduling of the remodel of their current facility and may change to some degree. The kitchen will meet the school's needs, and an MOU will be written to provide the needed parameters for its use. Central Services would like to recommend/request permission for the use of the facility by the school district. Once approved, an MOU will be written and signed by both parties.
