your approval of Superior Court's request to establish a Dedicated Drug Court Fund.
Please see Superior Court's request dated November 16th 2022 for program funding and
spending restrictions.
The Grant County Treasurer is directed to invest these ftinds.

Court Fund Account. for Dr. cipant Fees
beginning in 2023
Dear Commissioners:
Drug Court would like to create a Dedicated Drug Court Fund Account for Drug Court
Participants to -pay a Participant Fee when they are participating in Drug Court. This fund would-
be dedicated and revolving so the money would rollover year after year. There are four phases
for participants in Drug Court. In phase one, we focus on treatment. When aparticipant begins
phase two of the program, we would begin having participants pay a Participant Fee. Because of
this, we would begin to use this account in the year 2023.
Drug Court is an option for defendants prior to a finding of guilt. As such, -under RCW
10.82.070 in subsection 2) "Costs or assessments awarded to dedicated accounts, state or local,
are not subject to this state allocation Or to RCW 7,68,.035." This would allow 100% of the
participant fees to stay and be used in the county.
The reason for requesting the Dedicated Drug Court Fund would allow Drug Court to purchase
incentives and other supplies that are not covered through Grant ffinds., as well as provide
additional financial support for Dnig Court. Also, if donations for the Drug Court program are
received, these Rinds would also be placed into the Dedicated Drug Court Fund.
