Vasquez, Clerk of the Board Keith Elefson, County Engineer Public: See sign in sheet 1:10 p.m. The Commissioners held an Open Record Public Hearing to consider the vacation of the remainder of an unbuilt alley in Blk 6 of Fordair, S 26, T 25 N, R 28 E, WM as petitioned by Larry Briggs and Carolyn Marseilles -Briggs. Keith Elefson, County Engineer, provided the below engineers report: The Board of County Commissioners of Grant County Washington has received a petition to vacate that portion of County Right-of-way surplus being a portion of the Fordair Plat Alley in Block 6; lying in the SE1/4 of the NW1/4 Section 26 of Township 25 North, Range 28 East W. M., all in Grant County, Washington, as hatch marked on the attached Exhibit A. The Board of County Commissioners determined that consideration should be given to the petition and directed the County Road Engineer to prepare a report on the proposed vacation and abandonment for a public hearing to be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, the 28t'' Day of June, 2021. The Notice of Hearing was published in the County Official Newspaper and the Notice of Hearing was posted at each termini in compliance with RCW 36.87.050. The proponents of the petition own the majority of the frontage along the petitioned County Surplus Right-of-way; these roads are not active on the County Road System. The affected parcels are owned by the proponents. No public funds have been used towards maintenance of the alley. The remainder of the alley has been previously vacated by Resolution 21 -034 -CC. /find that, this section of County Right-of-way Surplus is not necessary and useful to the public and the public would be benefitted by its vacation and abandonment as a reduction in liability and maintenance, with no exceptions except utilities. A motion was made by Commissioner Jones, seconded by Commissioner Stone, to close the public comment portion of the hearing. The motion passed unanimously. A motion was made by Commissioner Stone, seconded by Commissioner Jones to approve the vacation as presented. The motion passed unanimously.
