Re: Closing of Coulee City Drop Box

The purpose of this memo is to request approval to permanently close the Coulee City Drop Box
effective September 15, 2021.
On September 24, 2020, the Solid Waste Advisory Committee made a recommendation to close
the site after the Grant County Public Works presented data analyzing the operational costs and
revenues associated with operating the site. Because customer usage has continued to decrease,
it was determined that increasing the tipping fees would not cover the costs of operating the site.
On February 23, 2021, the Grant County Commissioners took public comment at a public
meeting on the possible closure of the Coulee City Drop Box.
