Compared to one year ago, May 2020 we spent $ 35,723 for a total of 216.5 days. 3) Courts: COVID-19 Operation L OFFENDER/DIVERSION: All civil and criminal matters are still being held via WebEx, and we only have in person court hearings for Dispositions and Trials. The Juvenile Department still has 2 prosecuting attorneys as we transition to have the new acting prosecuting attorney. This has been challenging because there has been some confusion in cases because they have a total different approach in resolving cases. ii. TRUANCY: We currently have 124 Active Petitions, 109 Total Stays which 66 were filed this school year and 36 stays lifted for this school year and 68 contempt of court filed this school year. Our last Truancy docket for this school year was held on June 14, 2021. E2SSB 5290 (Bill eliminating Detention in Non -Criminal Juvenile Proceedings) Truancy on July 1, 2021. DEPENDENCY: The dependency unit is also doing regular docket hearings via WebEx. The court dockets are up to speed and things are running smoothly. The DCYF Administrator, Attorney General and I continued to have monthly meetings to discuss any problems or communication that needs immediate attention. 4) Martin Hall: There has been no issues with transportation or communication. I will be attending the Martin Hall Board Meeting this next Thursday June 24, 2021. 5) Administration: The Accommodation Plan for our one employee ended on June 18, 2021. The Juvenile Department does not have anybody working remotely at this point. We have concluded the interviewing phase of our hiring process for the new GAL Volunteer Coordinator. I am hoping to start this new position on July 1, 2021. 6) Needs of the Department i. Installation of the card key access with TS and Convergint Technology. Convergint Technology started to work on this project last week. ii. The Juvenile Department Security Camera System stopped working and is no longer functional since this last Tuesday, June 15, 2021. Currently, we have (1) security camera which Technology Services was able to install for us and "temporary fix" our security needs, this camera is viewing the Sally port entrance. The security camera system has been ordered but is on backorder.
