We received a basic, preliminary design from MJ Neal to place a new buil 'ng behind o r jail at approximately 3.5 million dollars. The idea of a new building for Develo t Services brings excellent opportunities that deserve serious consideration. First, we have a 'lding designed and built for the specific purpose of helping our citizens and their constru ion of ects, requiring permitting, time with building officials, and space to appropriatel interact 'th their local officials. Secondly, it provides an 8900 square foot, move -in ready uilding that i the future may house yet to be selected County offices or be utilized as slides ace for offices as e remodel the Law and Justice building. Regardless, the next step ' moving forward with a ne Development Services building would be to formally contract ith MJ Neal and have them cre e plans, specifications, and bid documents to create n accurate budget and bid the const tion of the building. Central Service respectfully requests the Board's approval to c ntract with MJ Neal and associates for is work, adding a change order to their current co tract.
