During the fair, we had tire failure on the Case front end loader we use daily.
Without this equipment, we would be unable to safely .move dozens of yards
of shavings generated daily by participants at the fair, and it create a health issue.
Unfortunately, these tires need to be replaced in pairs. We called Les Schwab,
who was able to respond the same day and replace the tires.
This cost was 5,629.91. This amount is above the amount department heads
can approve without secondary approval by the BOCC.
Tom Gaines directed me to go ahead and replace the tires, and we would
submit a letter after the fact memorializing the need and the reason
we did not fallow the typical process of requesting this through consent.
