The Commissioners held an Open Record Public Hearing to consider an Ordinance adding a new Chapter
6.50 to title 6 of the Grant County Code titled "Tear Gas" and delegating executive authority created by
ESHB 1054, passed April 23, 2021 regarding use of tear gas.
Commissioner Carter stated that the reason for this ordinance is to pass on the delegation regarding use
of tear gas from the Legislative Authority to the Sheriff.
A motion was made by Commissioner Jones, seconded by Commissioner Stone, to close the public
comment portion of the hearing. The motion passed unanimously. A motion was made by
Commissioner Stone, seconded by Commissioner Jones to approve the ordinance as presented. The
motion passed unanimously.
