Re: Request for Fence Replacement at Health District in Moses Lake
Dear BOCC,
In this fiscal year's capital planning, costs were budgeted for and approved to replace the fence
at the Grant County Health District building located at 103 8Ivy St in Moses Lake. The fence
forms a protective perimeter around the landscaped ledge that allows the windows in the
basement to be above ground level. It is currently constructed from wood that is in poor
condition.
Requests for bids were solicited from several contractor's including Stan's Construction LLC,
Nicks's Fence, Joes Lawn and Landscape Service, and Cortez Fencing.
Cortez Fencing supplied a bid to replace the fence with a 6 foot tall, galvanized fence at a cost
of $4341.42. This cost includes tax.
The budgeted cost for this project is $4200 from Reet 1, 126.168.00.9112.518303564. To pay
for the remaining $141.42 I would propose using the maintenance account for repairs,

In is my opinion that Grant County should move forward with this project and therefore I am
requesting permission from the Grant County Board of Commissioners to award the contract to
Cortez Fencing in the amount of $4341.42.
