MJ Neal, the architect, performing the design work for the new fairgrounds bathroom and kitchen, was
asked to get pricing for the design and bid/construction documents for a sprinkler system. This work
involves multiple disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, civil, and sprinkler design. These
documents are needed if we decide to go forward with the kitchen area and join the 4-H, Commercial, and
Agriculture buildings. This work would be added to the construction documents already being created for
the bathroom and storage areas.
If we continue with this, it will provide us the bid and construction documents to build a new bathroom
and storage area, a catering kitchen, and with the sprinkling, the ability to connect the 4H, Commercial,
and Agriculture buildings allowing for the passage between the buildings without needing to exit any of
the buildings.
The cost to do this work will add $29,427.50 to the $48,000 contract currently in place. This design work
would be funded from the remaining monies from the MUSCO lighting project.
