The Board is aware that we ran into serious logistical issues when attempting to provide wash
lighting for the Courthouse. We need to hire a contractor to complete the work, and it is not
inexpensive.
Central Services has worked with numerous contractors to receive quotes to complete the work
and had wide-ranging quotes due to the complexity of the work. Farmers Electric provided a
quote of almost $60,000, with much of that being labor, and this was the lowest quote. After
speaking with the Board and seeing that a budget extension would probably not be approved, we
worked with the contractor to lower the cost to $50,859.11, with the County performing some of
the work.
Central Services has enough funds left in the Courthouse 308 bond fund account to cover this
cost without a budget extension. Furthermore, this is the exact type of project the fund can
address. With the Board's permission, Central Services will award this work to Farmer's electric,
and we can likely have the lighting installed in the next two months.
