3:05 p.m. The Commissioners held an Open Record Public Hearing to consider an ordinance
amending Ch. 11.04 titled "Speed Limits" and lowering the speed limit on Moore Road from 40
mph to 25 mph.
Sam Castro, Public Works Director described the request and stated the lowering of the speed
limit to 25mph will be the entrance way to allowing WATV and Golf Cart usage in the area.
James McKiernan, petitioner and spokesman for the Homeowners Association stated the road is
40mph for about % mile. He is looking forward to it being a golf cart zone.
A motion was made by Commissioner Carter, seconded by Commissioner Jones, to close the
public comment portion of the hearing. The motion passed unanimously. A motion was made
by Commissioner Carter, seconded by Commissioner Jones to approve the ordinance amending
Ch. 11.04 as presented and lowering the speed limit on Moore Road. The motion passed
unanimously.
