Intakes: Today's Daily Population Report: We currently have 4 juveniles in detention. One juvenile for a warrant and unlawful possession of a firearm. We still have the Juvenile from Chief Moses Middle School in detention with charges of four counts of Attempted Assault 1St Degree with a firearm, Unlawful Possession of Firearm in the 2nd Degree and Possession of a Firearm on School Facilities. Another juvenile is there for Arson in the second degree. We also have one juvenile for a probation violation and a violation of Anti -harassment order. OFFENDER/DIVERSION: All civil and criminal matters are still being held via WebEx, and we only have in person court hearings for Dispositions and Trials. The Supreme court delayed the amendments to GR 31 and CrC 2.1 on May 5th in regards access to juvenile records and pleadings. On May 16 1 attended a Supreme Court Rules Committee meeting in regards this matter and the Supreme Court will be seeking the stake holders' input to discuss the impact of this rule between our own legal system. ii. TRUANCY: We currently have 117 active petitions, 118 total stays, 108 stays filed this school year, 41 stays lifted and sent to court and 35 contempt of court filed. DEPENDENCY: The dependency unit is also doing regular docket hearings, via WebEx. We started full day docket this last Tuesday, May 17, 2022 and things went well, there were a lot of in person participation from DCYF and the attorney general's office. We will be having our Table of 10 meeting on June 11t, 2022 at noon. Our dependency unit currently have 222 active cases. 3) Martin Hall: There has been no issues with transportation or communication. 4) Administration: The Juvenile Department completed True Colors part 1 on May 4th, 2022 and will be having True Colors part 2 on June 22nd, 2022 from 8:30am to 10am. The Juvenile department intends to move forward to implement the proposed job description, effective 05/26/22. We currently don't have a set date for our next Negotiation. 5) Needs of the Department I. Grant County Juvenile Court& Youth Services applied for VCAN grant funding for the upcoming fiscal year. The department of commerce will be notifying awarded applicants this next Wednesday, May 25th, 2022. ll. We had our demo for the new system that I am trying to bring for the GAL program on April 27, 2022. After researching and weighing in all the benefits, it is my intention to bring the Casa Manager system to this unit. I will be working on the letter to make this capital purchase, in the near future.
