A previous request was submitted and approved to purchase a replacement compressor for
system 1 of the chiller for the Law and Justice building. The compressor was received Monday
of this week and can be installed.
Contractors were contacted for bids to do the work and only one submitted a bid to do the project.
McKinstry bid $15,201.25, tax included, which includes 120 lbs. of R22 refrigerant, pumping
out the old, contaminated refrigerant, changing the compressor out and all relative components,
supplies and commissioning the compressor back into service. Equipment to lift the compressors
will also be supplied by the contractor for the project. The compressor weighs just about 1200
pounds.
Therefore, I am asking the Board for approval to proceed with this project. The cost, $15,201.25,
would be paid from REET 1 -Wheeler Road Roof replacement project, fund
126.168.00.9112.594186210 which has a balance of $19,657.15.
