Reference: City of George, Frontage Road Infrastructure Improvements — SIP No. 2019-07
Dear Ms. Flynn:
The City has been working with a Developer that has constructed a hotel, which is currently
operating. However, the Developer is still required to complete a number of site improvements,
including the infrastructure improvements for which these SIP funds were intended. The
Developer has requested a deferral of those improvements due to cash flow concerns that are
the result of the COVID-19 pandemic and its negative effects on travel and tourism. Because
the participation of the developer is crucial to the success of the improvements, the City is
requesting a 1 -year extension of the time to expend the SIP funds to allow the Developer to
recover from the COVI D-1 9 pandemic.
