If this compressor should fail the chiller would not have enough cooling capacity to keep temperature in the jail and court side of the building comfortable. McKinstry, the company who performs maintenance on the chiller, was contacted to see if they could find a replacement compressor. They were able to find the compressor and the other related parts and refrigerant that will be needed to do the replacement project. They will order the parts and have them shipped directly to us so they are on hand if the compressor should not make it to the end of the season. The compressor and parts will. cost $34,560.70. There is a 4 -to - 6 -week lead time on delivery. Therefore, I am asking the Grant County Board of Commissioners for approval to proceed with the purchase of this compressor and parts to have on hand as a backup. The cost for the compressor and parts would be funded from the Facilities and Maintenance Repairs operating expense budget, account code 001.112.00.000.518304800. There is $74,574.00 balance in this fund. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
