We have been serving Grant County families/ caregivers for over 20 years, We have also supported teachers who wish to learn more about Autism by providing tuition to attend Autism training. In addition, we have a yearly scholarship for graduating seniors who have shown an interest in the field of Special Education. Our newest service is a once a month emotional support group led by experienced parents of children with Autism. Families/caregivers with newly diagnosed children can come together to support each other while navigating life with Autism. We will be holding ourAnnual Autism Awareness Walk September 24 of this year. We have traditionally used the block of C Street NW between the Bureau of Reclamation and the Court House. Here we gather for bounce house fun, Sheriff Posse Rides, food and socializing. This year we are adding several more food vendors and are hoping to spread out to the second block of N. Division, between the Court House on the north and Dr. Northrup's office and Parking Lot F on the south. We have several requests to present to the County: 1. The use of the front Court House lawn (the steps will be off limits) to be set up with tables and chairs for food court patrons to sit down and -eat. No stakes will be driven in the ground. We also request that the irrigation system not be on from 8:00-4:00. 2. Access to the power box across Division Street between Dr. Northrup's office and Parking Lot F. We will access this power for our sound system. 3. Permission to have delivered two Porta Potties to the two end parking places (Court House side) of the second block of North Division . These parking places are in front of a pale yellow cement block storage building and a green metal storage building. The Porta Potties will not block access to the third light green storage building, the only one of which has a garage door. Please see the map which shows the exact location. We would like to request to have these delivered late Friday afternoon, September 23rd and picked up early Monday morning, September 26. If we have the Porta Potties delivered and picked up on a normal work day, then Basin Septic Service will donate the cost for two Porta Potties for our walk. If we request both delivery and pickup on Saturday, which requires overtime for Basin Septic Service staff, we will have to pay for the Porta Potties ourselves. The Court House would be minus two parking spots for a couple of hours on both the Friday afternoon and the Monday morning. 4. Use of Parking Lot F for food vendors to park near their trucks. Thank you for considering allowing use of Grant County facilities for our Autism Awareness Walk on September 24.
