After purchasing the land for the new Jail, there is a need for survey work to be completed to
support the construction. This work can be time-consuming, and we want to start sooner than
later.
The surveys include a boundary survey to record the exact points of the land and provide control
points for construction measurements. A cultural survey to notify the local tribes of our intent to
build and ensure we do not disturb essential artifacts and a geotechnical survey to determine
foundation loading values for future buildings.
These surveys will provide the needed data to construct any future buildings. It will also help us
prepare for an earthwork bid to clean the land of debris, level certain areas for future building
locations, and address issues found in the already completed phase one environmental survey.
This work will be funded through the 311.001.00.0000.594236100 account (sales tax initiative
for the Jail) and is performed through the Architect of record CRA and Associates and will be
approximately $60,000
