WHEREAS, Vladimir Putin, the president of the Russian Federation has ordered his
military to carry out a violent invasion of their neighbor, the nation of Ukraine, and
WHEREAS, Grant County's citizens are blessed to have many Slavic neighbors who have
made this country and our county their home, and
WHEREAS, multitudes of the good citizens of Russia, while losing many young soldiers
on the roads and streets of Ukraine, are speaking against President Putin's unprovoked attack
upon their neighboring country, and
WHEREAS, both the Ukrainian military and their citizens have been targeted for death
and destruction in this conflict, and
WHEREAS, many of Grant County's Slavic citizens, especially our Ukrainian
neighbors, are experiencing great pain and anxiety over this urgent and difficult situation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT that the Grant
County Commissioners stand in sympathy for and support of Grant County's Slavic citizens and
condemn the violence being perpetrated upon the people of Ukraine and urge compassionate
thoughts and prayers on behalf of all those caught up in this dangerous conflict and call for an
immediate cessation of the incursion.
