We do have a couple cases pending forfeiture that we may see a portion of in the future if we are compliant (signing the form). Smith Sent: Monday, February 7, 2022 11:56 AM To: Barbara Vasquez Subject: Approval for Equitable Sharing Funds Attachments: ESAC.png Each year we must fill out our form to be compliant with Equitable Sharing. I need approval from Mr. Stone to approve me checking the box on the form that says the budget provided ($11,110,896.00) for the Sheriff Office for 2022 is correct. I just need an email back stating that is correct so I can put it in the file. There is a checkbox that says I received approval that I check as I send it in. If you are not familiar with equitable sharing, it is strictly an income source for the Sheriff Office IF we assist in any eligible cases with other agencies and there is a seizure of funds/assets. They split the funds between cooperating agencies if the forfeiture is successful. We currently have 3 cases where we have applied for equitable sharing, but it will take quite some time (possibly years) to see if we get anything out of them. So, we must stay "eligible" by sending in the ESAC form each year. have attached a copy of the page that requires I put a checkbox and date for your viewing. If there are any questions please feel free to contact me. We are on a tight deadline for this (so we don't get caught in the backlog) and stay eligible. I should send it in by end of week. Please let me know if I am able to date and check the box. I have already received department head approval. ge"k SMA Support Speciatbt JNC9 ✓'(9 .A3ox 37 ep&a&., wa 98823 (50) 754-2019 est. 2395 (50) 754-0529 Jax tmsmith@grantcountywa.gov The contents of this e-mail message, including any attachments, are intended solely for the use of the person or entity to whom the e-mail was addressed.
