GRANT COUNTY PROSECUTING ATTORNEY'S OFFICE
APPOINTMENT OF SPECIAL DEPUTY AND OATH OF OFFICE
1, Kevin McCrae, Prosecuting Attorney for Grant County, State of Washington, hereby
appoint Tim Rasmussen, WSBA No. 32105, Stevens County Prosecuting Attorney, or any
Stevens County Deputy. Prosecuting Attorney he shall designate, my Special Deputy Prosecuting
Attorney, pursuant to RCW 36. 27. 040, for the limited purpose of re -presenting the State of
Washington in all criminal investigations, court proceedings, and other actions related to a matter
in which I have a conflict.
Tim Rasmussen, Stevens County Prosecuting Attorney, may only perform additional
tasks, services, or duties not identified above with my express, written authorization.
This appointment shall commence on January 1, 2022, and shall continue until the

This appointment is made pursuant to Herron v. McClanahan, 28 Wn. App. 552 (1981),
to address a conflict of interest. If the services described above have not been concluded, I may
only refuse to reappoint Tim Rasmussen, Stevens County Prosecuting Attorney, at the beginning
of any subsequent term of office for cause, and with the permission of the superior court. If the

services described above have not been concluded, I may revoke the appointment only for cause,
and with the permission of the superior court.
The conflict necessitating appointment of Tim Rasmussen, Stevens County Prosecuting
Attorney, extends to all of my regular deputy prosecuting attorneys and to staff. Proper screens
have been erected in the Grant County Prosecuting Attorney's Office to ensure nobody in this
office has access to, or is in any way involved in, this case and has no communication with Tim

which may have come into possession of my office.
With this appointment, I give Tim Rasmussen, Stevens County Prosecuting Attorney, full
power and authority to do and act in my name the same as I would in law be empowered to do if
personally present for the expressed purposes described above.
