HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 21-119-CCBOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Grant County, Washington RESOLUTION ADOPTING A REDISTRICTING PLAN RESOLUTION No. 21- / / � -CC WHEREAS, the Grant County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) finds Chapter 29A.76 RCW requires local governments to periodically consider redistricting based on population information from the most recent federal decennial census; and WHEREAS, the BOCC finds Chapter 29A.76 RCW requires local governments to adopt redistricting plans which meet the criteria of that chapter; and WHEREAS, the BOCC finds that a public hearing was held on November 15, 2021, to receive public comment and testimony on proposed redistricting plans; and WHEREAS, the BOCC has reviewed available information, the record, and public comment and testimony, and finds that the attached proposed redistricting plan best meets the criteria set forth in RCW 29A.76 for redistricting of commissioner districts within Grant County; and WHEREAS, if any provision of this resolution, or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the resolution or the application of the provisions to other persons or circumstances, shall not be affected. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT the redistricting plan attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibits "l", "2", and "3" is hereby adopted to reflect the commissioner districts and their boundaries within Grant County effective as provided by law.
