Truancy: iii. Dependency: /A Martin Hall 5\ Administration Tuesday, November 23, 2021 submitted by S. Palacios 1) Financial: $27,060 for a total of 164 Days in October 2021. Average Used Bed =5.29. Compared to one year ago, October 2020 we spent $16,748 for a total of 101.5 days. 2) Intakes: Today's Daily Population Report: We currently have 8 juveniles in detention. 1 juvenile for rape of a child 1st, 3 juveniles auto decline to adult superior court (for murder 11t, drive by shooting /assault 1St and assault 1St ) 1 juvenile for drive by shooting— assault 11t, and 2 juveniles for theft of a motor vehicle. Because of the severe charges the 8 intakes have bail at this point. 3) Courts: L OFFENDER/DIVERSION: All civil and criminal matters are still being held via WebEx, and we only have in person court hearings for Dispositions and Trials. We continue to have weekly meetings with the juvenile prosecutor to staff upcoming dispositions, and this has been working great. TRUANCY: We currently have 82 active petitions, 73 total stays, 11 stays filed this school year, 1 stay lifted and sent to court and 3 contempt of court filed. DEPENDENCY: The dependency unit is also doing regular docket hearings, via WebEx. In home visits are still not allowed due to COVID. Staff continue to meet with youth and families outside their homes or at the office, following social distancing and PPE protocols. All staff is required to wear a mask outside of their offices. 4) Martin Hall: Since my last update we have had one more instance where my staff waited for a period greater than 4 hours for transportation making it 7 hours intake process. Typical intake hours will take around 3 -4 hours. am inconstant communication with Mark Boyer as to transportation issues and moving forward their plan is to have 3 people available for graveyard so there is a person always available to transport. 5) Administration: • We hired for one of the vacant positions as a GAL Volunteer Coordinator. VCAN Grant position 6) Needs of the Department L We extended one more week the other position for GAL Volunteer coordinator to hopefully get more qualified applicants and will be doing interviews soon.
