The Commissioners held an Open Record Public Hearing to consider an application from Hyer Farms for
a franchise to construct, operate and maintain an irrigation pipeline under certain County g
Road Rights -
of -Way
hts-
of -Way within the County of Grant, State of Washington, for the purpose of carrying water. Running
under and along Road W -NE and Road 2 -NE within Sections 23, 24, 25 and 36, all in Township 19 N
Range 30 E WM. This hearing was continued from December 7, 2021.
Commissioner Stone discussed his location tour with Mr. Schell.
Sam Dart, Assistant Public Works Director stated that the Engineer recommends approval.
Jim Schell stated he hoped that the franchise would be placed on the opposite side of the road.
Jim Hyer stated that Lad Irrigation surveys the land.
A motion was made by Commissioner Jones, seconded by Commissioner Stone, to close the public
comment portion of the meeting. The motion passed unanimously. A motion was made by
Commissioner Jones, seconded by Commissioner Stone to approve the franchise as presented but
recommending that the applicant survey and plant wheat for weed control and cover up. The motion
passed unanimously.
