Recently Facilities and Maintenance serviced the duct heaters for the jail. During this work
three unit's were found to have heating elements that did not work. The duct heaters are pieces of
equipment that heat the supply air for an areas to them, if they fail it is not noticed until
heat is needed.
An informal bid was sent out via email to five contractors. McKinstry was the only contractor
who submitted a bid, and their proposed cost is $5800. This cost is co 11
heater replacement projects. comparable to past duct
In is my opinion that Grant County should •move forward with this project and therefore I am
requesting permission from the Grant County Board Of Commissioners to award the project to
Mckinstry for the cost of $5800, tax not included. The funds for the project would come from the
Facilities and Maintenance Repairs budget, 00 1 .112.00-0000.5183 04800.
