We have reviewed the requirements within Chapter 136-12 WAC and are taking the steps that are required. As it is not possible to immediately employ a new county engineer, we will be appointing an acting county engineer per WAC 136-12-030. A resolution appointing Samuel Castro, a full-time county employee, as the acting county engineer will be submitted for consideration today. As Mr. Castro is not a licensed professional civil engineer, the Commissioners are working on finding a licensed professional civil engineer for the interim period until a full-time licensed professional county engineer is hired. We will notify you once we have designated an interim licensed professional county engineer. We have begun taking steps to find afull-time county engineer and will notify you as required under WAC 136-12.
