RESOLUTION INCREASING THE RESOLUTION No. 18- t -CC
ASSESSMENT RATE FOR HILLCREST
LIGHTING DISTRICT FOR 2019 TO $ 19.00
PER PARCEL
WHEREAS, Resolution 93-9-CC approved the formation of the Hillcrest Lighting District;
and
WHEREAS, the Order set forth that the amount of the annual assessment for the LID was to
be determined by Public Utility District No. 2 of Grant County; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 02-189-CC set the assessment rate for 2003 at $17.00 per parcel and
Resolution No. 06-264-CC decreased the assessment to $16.00 per parcel in 2006; and Resolution
No. 10-088-CC increased the assessment to $17.00 per parcel in 2011; and Resolution No. 13-078-
CC increased the assessment to $18.00 per parcel is 2013; and Resolution No. 16-196-CC decreased
the assessment to $16.00 per parcel; and
WHEREAS, the current assessment of $16.00 per taxable parcel has been deemed by the
Grant County Treasurer to be insufficient; and
WHEREAS, the Treasurer has recommended to the Board of County Commissioners to
increase the 2019 tax assessment from $16.00 per parcel to $19.00 per parcel;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT the Board certifies to the
Grant County Treasurer the assessment rate for 2019 will be increased to $19.00 per taxable
parcel in RID No. 93-1 and that the Treasurer use these figures for the assessment rate in all
future assessment rolls of RID No 93-1 until further order of the Board.

RE: A 2019 ASSESSMENTS FOR HILLCREST LIGHTING DISTRICT
In reviewing the cash balances for the Hillcrest Lighting
District, I find their cash balance for yearend to be not
adequate. The original resolution stated that no new assessment
will be prepared unless there is an increase or decrease in the
annual anticipated lighting costs submitted by the Grant County
PUD. The assessment rate has been the same for the last couple
years at ($16. 00) per parcel. The ending balance going into 2018
is not adequate in case the PUD raises their rates in 2019 and
will not be adequate to cover for payments in January and
February. With this potential change to the monthly bill for
2019, we need to increase the assessment from ($16.00) in 2018
to ($19.00) in 2019 which includes the county's administration
fee. The administration fee will continue to be $1.00 per parcel
for 2019.
