A RESOLUTION RELATING TO
THE BOATING SAFETY PROGRAM
RESOLUTION NO. 89 -101 -CC
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT TO ENTER
INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE WASHINGTON STATE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
FILATING TO FUNDING A COOPERATIVE BOATING SAFETY PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Grant County has a number of waters available for boating,
and
WHEREAS, boating is enjoyed by a large number of residents and visitors
to Grant County every year, and
WHEREAS, Grant County has initiated a boating safety program/boating
patrol to promote and enforce safe boating on its waters, and
WHEREAS, the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission administers
funds available for boating safety, safety education, and law enforcement
programs, entitled Boating Safety Grant and Contracts, and
WHEREAS, Grant County is desirous of entering into an agreement with
the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission for cooperative boating
safety program, and
WHEREAS, the Grant County Sheriff's Department has made initial appli-
cation for funds from the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission,
and said application being approved for funds,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
1. The Grant County Sheriff's Department be, and hereby is, authorized
to enter into an agreement with the Washington State Parks and
Recreation Commission for cooperative boating safety program
2. Any funds received pursuant to said agreement shall be used in
said cooperative boating safety program
3. The Grant County'Sheriff' Department's share of the program shall
be provided from its budgeted funds; and
4. This resolution may become a part of and attach to the formal
written agreement between the Grant County Sheriff's Department
and the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission.
