HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - BOCCCOMMISSIONERS' PROCEEDINGS Week of October 30,1989 The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Glenn Chamberlain. All of the Commissioners were in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. The Commissioners approved the minutes of the preceeding session. The Commissioners sent a letter to the Department of the Army regard- ing land acquisition at the Yakima Firing Center. The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Maureen Haker of the District Court Department to $1,117.80 effective December 1, 1989. The Commissioners approved the request of District Court for the purchase of a filing system from the Capital Outlay budget in the amount of $986.21. Chairman Chamberlain was authorized to sign a letter regarding an amendment of Contract #2200-73552, Advance Loan Agreement, between Grant County Mental Health and DSHS. A motion was made by Commissioner Chandler and seconded by Commis- sioner Goodwin that Resolution Number 89 -107 -CC to honor the Moses Lake Job Corp be passed. The motion carried. A motion was made by Commissioner Chandler and seconded by Commis- sioner Chamberlain that Resolution Number 89 -108 -CC in the matter of changing the zoning from "A' to "R-1 and "C-R" in a portion of S31, T19N.,R29E.W.M. as requested by E.A.Sircin & David Lee Sparks be passed. The motion carried. A motion was made by Commissioner Goodwin and seconded by Commis- sioner Chandler that Resolution Number 89 -109 -CC in the matter of unredeemed warrants be passed. The motion carried. The Commissioners signed the payroll warrants list #36497 thru 36852 for the month of October. The Commissioners were advised by the Sheriff Department that Elmer Howland was reinstated as a Deputy Sheriff effective October 16, 1989, the salary to be set at step level III which is $1966.00 per month. The Commissioners approved the beginning salary of Stephen J. Hallstrom to work in the Prosecuting Attorney's Office effective February 1,1990 at the salary of $2,957.00 per month. As.of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for pay- ment those vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 10/30/89 in the total amount of $171,538.67. The Commissioners met with various Elected Officials and Department Heads regarding matters of mutual concern. As there was no further business the session was continued until October 31,1989. October 31,1989 The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. The Commissioners met with the Public Works Department regarding Bid Award Recommendation -Dozer Blade, Drivers License Requirements. The Commissioners notified N.C.Machinery of Yakima that they were awarded the contract to provide one dozer blade in the amount of $5,697.50. The Commissioners approved the Public Works Voucher Approval Claims Fund #10-1 through #10-2 in the total amount of $12,127.83. A Public Hearing regarding a proposed emergency appropriation in the Data Processing Department in the amount of $12,000 had to be continued due to lack of adequate legal notice. It was continued until November 6,1989 at 9:30 a.m. As there was no further business the session was adjourned until November 6,1989.
