RESOLUTION TO HONOR
DARYL JACKSON AS GRANT
COUNTY NOXIOUS WEED .
CONTROL BOARD COORDINATOR
RESOLUTION NUMBER 89 -120 -CC
WHEREAS, in 1980 the Grant County Commissioners appointed the
first Grant County Weed Control Board, and
WHEREAS, on October 1.,1980 the first Coordinator for the Weed
Control Program was hired, and
WHEREAS, that person was Daryl Jackson, who has served in that
same position until October 31,1989, and
WHEREAS, as the first Coordinator for that Board, Daryl Jackson
made a major contribution to weed control both in the County and State-
wide by developing policies and operating procedures that serve as a
model for noxious weed control in Washington, and
WHEREAS, Daryl Jackson has served in many activities beyond the
required scope of Coordinator such as serving as President of the Eastern
Washington Weed Board Supervisors Association, being instrumental. in
revising and improving the noxious weed law, developing contracts and
directing noxious weed control in several cities and towns in Grant
County, and developing the recent Northwest Symposium for Control and
Containment of Purple Loosestrife,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Grant County Commis -
sinners appreciate the major contribution Daryl Jackson has made to this
Board and to the people of Grant County and give him our thanks.
