RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING
GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF TO
APPLY TO IAC FOR ORV FUNDS
RESOLUTION NUMBER 93- 81 -CC
A resolution authorizing the submittal of an application to the
Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation for funding assistance
for an Outdoor Recreation Project from funds available through the.
Non -highway and Off-road Vehicle (NOVA) program as provided by RCW
46.09.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Non -highway and Off-road
Vehicle Act, state funding assistance had been authorized and made
available to aid in financing the cost of land for ORV and non -
highway road purposes. And that this funding assistance is
available to local public bodies; and
WHEREAS, the County Commissioners of the County of Grant consider
it in the best public interest to maintain and acquire additional
lands, provide permanent sanitation facilities for the Moses Lake
ORV area which is located within Grant County, generally south of
Moses Lake and Sand Dunes Road and north of O'Sullivan Reservoir.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved, by the County Commissioners of Grant
County, Washington,
1. That the Sheriff be authorized to make formal application
to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation for
funding assistance.
2. That any funding assistance so received be used in the
acquisition of approximately 100 acres of land adjoining
the Moses Lake Sand Dunes, and construct 2 vault toilet
systems on property owned by Grant County located in the
Moses Lake Sand Dunes, Grant County, Washington.
3. That any property acquired with financial aid through the
Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation be placed in
use as an ORV and/or non -highway road, outdoor facility
and be retained in such use in perpetuity, unless
otherwise provide and agreed to by the County
Commissioners and the Interagency Committee for Outdoor
Recreation, and
4. That this resolution become a part of the formal
application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor
Recreation.
