RESOLUTION ADOPTING
PLANNING COMMISSION
RECOMMENDATION

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant
County has been advised by the Grant County Planning Commission
that a public hearing was conducted on June 2, 1993 on the
matter of changing the zoning from Agriculture to "S-A
(Agriculture - Suburban)" in a portion of Section 24, Township
20 N., Range 28 E.W.M., and;
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission voted unanimously
to recommend to the Board of County Commissioners that the
zone change request be denied, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, having
said recommendation has given notice this matter would be
considered at their regular meeting on July 19, 1993.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County
Commissioners for Grant County, Washington, after hearing
testimony from the East Columbia Basin Irrigation District that
there is a question as to the adequacy of Farm Unit 111,
Irrigation Block 40, Columbia Basin Irrigation Project to be
used as productive agricultural ground, and the subject farm
unit is already adjacent to "Suburban Agriculture" zoned property,
that the proposal by Mr. and Mrs. Matheson be approved for the
remainder of Farm Unit 111, and does not include Farm Units 116,
117, or 118 as was originally requested.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of County
Commissioners for Grant County does, by this Resolution, amend the
Grant County Comprehensive Plan and Official Zoning Map for Grant
County to the effect that the following described property shall
henceforth be zoned as "S-A (Agriculture - Suburban)"
Farm Unit 111, Irrigation Block 40, Columbia Basin
Project located in the Southwest quarter of Section
13, Township 20 N., Range 28 E.W.M.
