Week of August 16,1993
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by
Chairman Helen Fancher. All of the Commissioners were in attendance with the Clerk
of the Board.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding session as
written.
The Commissioners approved the request by the Sheriff that the Dictaphone Tape
machine and Centra Com I Console in Dispatch be declared surplus.
Chairman Fancher was authorized to sign the Notice of Separation or Work
Interruption of Betty A. Campbell of the Cooperative Extension Office.
The Commissioners approved the request by Rita M. Witte that she will be
returning to full time employment in the Cooperative Extension Office effective September
1,1993.
The Commissioners approved the request by the Grant County Assessor that
funds to expand the front counter top in the amount of $950 be allowed.
The Commissioners received notification from the Teamsters Union that they
desired to open contracts for the purpose of modification.
The Commissioners appointed Ron Hughes to serve on the South Banks Lake
Mosquito Control District #3.
The Commissioners received notification of a Claim against Grant County from
Gordon R. Hunter. The matter was referred to the Prosecuting Attorney for handling.
The Commissioners set the following Planning Commission matters for Public
Meeting:
Vern L. Cox zone change request and preliminary plat, set for September 7,1993
at 1:30 p.m.
Keene & Becky Basso zone change request, set for September 7,1993 at 2:30
p.m.
Wayne True zone change request, set for September 7,1993 at 3:30 p.m.
The Commissioners held a Public Hearing regarding the matter of declaring certain
County owned property surplus. A motion was made by Commissioner Snead,
seconded by Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 93 -99 -CC declaring the
property surplus be passed. The motion carried. A motion was made by Commissioner
Snead, seconded by Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 93 -100 -CC granting
sale of said property be passed. The motion carried.
The Commissioners held a Public Hearing regarding the Lamb Weston,lnc. Quincy
Reed Bed Biosolids Facility. A motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded
by Commissioner Allison to approve the Determination of Non -Significance. The motion
carried.
As there was no further business the session was continued until August 17,1993.
August 17,1993
The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners in
attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding Grant County
Region STP Agreement, Revised RAP Contracts2B' NW, and Bridge No. 35B, Solid
Waste -Coordinator, and a new copier.
The Commissioners signed the Public Works Claims Fund Voucher Approval #7-1
through 7-199 in the total amount of $1,335,327.61.
The Commissioners signed the Interlocal Agreement for the 1994/95 Grant County
Fuel Tax Redistribution Program.
The Commissioners approved the reclassification of the Accounting/ Billing Clerk
in the Grant County Mental Health Department.
The Commissioners received a map of the Grant County Fairgrounds showing the
location of first aid stations, emergency communication areas, and other procedures
related to the care and safety of the animals and the general public to be used during
the Grant County Fair.
The Commissioners held a Public Hearing regarding the Paul Bernsen, Sandcastle
Estates project. After hearing testimony a motion was made by Commissioner Snead,
seconded by Commissioner Allison to table the matter to seek advice from the
Prosecuting Attorney. The motion carried.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those
vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 8/16/93 in the total amount of
$198,751.59.
As there was no further business the session was adjourned until August 23,1993.
