HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - BOCCCOMMISSIONERS' PROCEEDINGS Week of November 29,1993 The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Helen Fancher. All of the Commissioners were in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding session as written. The Commissioners approved the request by Grant County Juvenile Probation Department for permission to use funds to pay for expenses involved with JUVIS training to support staff. Chairman Fancher was authorized to sign the Notice of Separation or Work Interruption of Darla Cagle of the District Court Department. Chairman Fancher was authorized to sign the Notice of Separation or Work Interruption of Frances L. Sell of the Juvenile Department. The Commissioners approved a request by the Prosecuting Attorney for an increase in funding from Law and Justice Funds for the purchase of a CDROM for research purposes. The Commissioners approved the November payroll warrants list. The Commissioners signed an interagency agreement between the Sheriff Department and Washington Traffic Safety Commission. The Commissioners signed a letter of intent to participate in the Consolidated Juvenile Services Program for the 1993-1995 biennium. A motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 93 -142 -CC relating to the abolition of an existing county fund effective December 31,1993 named Noxious Weed Control Board Fund #664, Department #001 be passed. The motion carried. A motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 93 -143 -CC relating to the establishment of a new fund/ department effective January 1,1994 to be named Noxious Weed Control Fund #127, Department #169 be passed. The motion carried. The Commissioners met with Mayor Keeney regarding the City of Warden Urban Growth Area. As there was no further business the session was continued until November 30,1993. November 30,1993 The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding a reimbursable work agreement extension with the Department of wildlife, and to discuss budgets for the 1994 year. The Commissioners received notification from the Public Works Director regarding the Sagebrush Flats Road, Potato Hill Road, Stratford Road and 7 NE, and 19 NE/NW being built in accordance with the plans and specifications, and that all materials incorporated into the project met contract specifications. The Commissioners signed the Public Works Claims Fund Voucher Approval #11- 1 through 11-2 in the total amount of $16,731.79. The Commissioners signed the Public Works Payroll Journal for November in the amount of $211,861.69. As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 11/30/93 in the total amount of 245,625_.._17. A Public Hearing was held and a motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 93 -144 -CC relating to a supplemental extension in the Alcohol/Drug Abuse Fund #115, Department #157, Project #031, CYAP in the amount of $10,000 be passed. The motion carried. A motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 93 -145 -CC in the matter of amending Resolution Number 93 -130 - CC prescribing the time by which assessments within Road Improvement District No. 92- 1 must be paid; fixing the rate of interest payable on the unpaid assessments; and providing for other matters properly relating thereto be passed. The motion carried. A Public Meeting was held regarding the Vern Cox Zone Change request from Open Space Recreation to Suburban. A motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by Commissioner Allison that the matter be set for Public Hearing December 21, 1993 at 1:30 p.m. The motion carried. A Public Meeting was held regarding the Vern Cox Preliminary Plat submittal. A motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by Commissioner Allison that the matter be set for Public Hearing December 21, 1993 at 2:00 p.m. The motion carried.
