HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 94-043-CCBOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NUMBER 94- 43 -CC WHEREAS, the abuse of drugs and alcohol, especially among our youth, is a grave concern to our county, state and nation; and WHEREAS, the battle against alcohol and other drug abuse must be waged on every front by all of us through example, leadership, and the commitment of time and energy; and WHEREAS, the month of April 1994, has been set aside as Drug -Free Washington Month to increase the awareness of issues related to tobacco, alcohol, and other drug use, and to celebrate those who are involved in prevention efforts; and WHEREAS, Drug -Free Washington Month is a unique awareness campaign created to promote and enrich positive, drug-free environments, challenging individuals, families, schools, businesses, and all facets of our communities to take action; and WHEREAS, communities are empowered to plan local activities throughout the month to increase prevention awareness, and join together on April 29 to celebrate their efforts toward a substance abuse -free Washington; and WHEREAS, the Grant County Commissioners are in support of the plan to join together in the effort toward a substance abuse free Washington; NOW, THEREFORE, the Grant County Commissioners do hereby proclaim April 1994, as DRUG-FREE GRANT COUNTY MONTH and urge all citizens of the County to join in recognizing the people and organizations that have dedicated time and resources to make the 1994 Drug -Free Washington Month campaign a great success.
