GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON
RESOLUTION NUMBER 94- 70 -CC
WHEREAS, Grant County Commissioners recognize the economic and
recreational benefits of a healthy warmwater fishing industry, not only for Grant
County but for the entire State of Washington, and
WHEREAS, management strategies are badly needed to sustain warmwater
lakes and to enhance trout populations in the State, and
WHEREAS, the recent ban on salmon fishing in the Northwest will lead to
increased pressure on inland fisheries, and
WHEREAS, Grant County is the highest fished county in the State, and it has
become apparent that the quality of trout fishing in lowland lakes has been
depreciating for several years,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that Grant County strongly
supports the Central Washington Fish Committee's proposal for enhancement of
low land fresh water lakes to strengthen trout and create meaningful warm water
fisheries management programs within the Washington Department of Fish and
Wildlife.
