ORDINANCE NO. 94 -79 -CC
AN ORDINANCE EXEMPTING GRANT COUNTY
FROM RCW 9.41.050, subsection (4) .
BE IT ORDAINED:
WHEREAS, the Washington State Legislature enacted 1994 Wash. Laws Ch. 7
PV E2SHB 2319, § 405, amending RCW 9.41.050 and 1982 1st ex.s. c.47 § 3, by
adding subsection (4); and
WHEREAS, RCW 9.41.050, subsection (4), as amended, restricts the methods
by which firearms have historically been transported legally, traditionally, and
responsibly by the citizens of Grant County; and
WHEREAS, such methods of transportation have not posed a significant threat
to public safety or to the public,peace; and
WHEREAS, the language of RCW 9.41.050, subsection (4), imposes an
unwarranted restriction upon' the lawful transportation of firearms by the citizenry
of Grant County;
WHEREAS, pursuant to the amendments to RCW 9.41.050 set forth in 1994
Wash. Laws. Ch. 7 PV E2SHB 2319, § 405, Grant County is authorized and
empowered by and through RCW 9.41.050, subsection (6), to exempt itself from the
prohibitions of subsection (4) of RCW 9.41.050; and
WHEREAS, Grant County does desire to exempt itself from the prohibition of
subsection (4) of RCW 9.41.050.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE GRANT COUNTY
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, pursuant to RCW 9.41.050, subsection (6) , that Grant

RCW 9.41.050, SUBSECTION (4) - 1
County be and hereby is exempt from all prohibitions of RCW 9.41.050, subsection
(4) , effective July 1, 1994.
