Week of August 29,1994
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by
Chairman Helen Fancher. All of the Commissioners were in attendance with the Clerk
of the Board.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding session as
written.
The Commissioners approved the starting salary of William J. Halstead of the
Prosecuting Attorney's Department at $2,735 per month effective August 16,1994.
The Commissioners approved leave without pay for William J. Halstead of the
Prosecuting Attorney's Department September 1,2, and 8 through 16,1994.
The Commissioners approved the starting salary of Karen Sutter of the
Prosecuting Attorney's Department at $1,634.40 per month effective August 30,1994.
The Commissioners approved the request by the Juvenile Probation Department
for the purchase and installation of JUVIS-LAN upgrade, with funding for software and
hardware involved coming from CCP fund, and funding for installation coming from CJF-
L&J funding already allocated under services.
The Commissioners approved the salary of Mary Diamond of the Grant County
District Court Office at $5.00 per hour effective August 19,1994.
The Commissioners approved the starting salary of Monika Catey of the Sheriff's
Department at $1,843.20 per month effective August 15,1994.
The Commissioners approved the starting salary of Susie Mora of the Treasurer's
Department at $1,470 per month effective August 15,1994.
The Commissioners received a claim for damages from Dorothy Ulrich. The
matter was referred to the Prosecuting Attorney and the Public Works Director for
handling.
Chairman Fancher was authorized to sign the Special Occasion Liquor License
approval for Desert Aire Mens Club.
The Commissioners received a signed contract between Grant County and
Assistance to the Pregnant and Parenting(Host Agency) and Parent to Parent.
As there was no further business the session was continued until August 30,1994.
August 30,1994
The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners in
attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding Kermit
Behrens('H' NW), WSDOT Haul Road Agreement -So. Frontage, RAP Submittal, Mr.
Longacres-'16' NE/Crab Creek, Pit Sites.
The Commissioners signed the Public Works Claims Fund Voucher Approval #8-1
through #8-2 in the total amount of $23,032.95.
The Commissioners signed the Public Works Payroll Journal for the month of
August in the total amount of $301,091.87.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those
vouchers filed in the Auditors Office 8/29/94 in the total amount of $328,034.93.
The Commissioners notified the Accounting Department that they agreed to allow
up to $400 payments on expenses for Mike Craig from the Soldiers and Sailors Fund.
The Commissioners met with various Department Heads, Elected Officials and
others regarding matters of mutual concern.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session was
adjourned until September 6,1994.
