RESOLUTION ADOPTING
PLANNING COMMISSION
RECOMMENDATION

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have been
advised by the Grant County Planning Commission that a public hearing was conducted on
October 5, 1994 on the matter of changing the zoning from Agriculture(AGR) to S-A (Suburban -
Agriculture), and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have given notice this matter
would be considered at a public hearing on November 8, 1994 due to a quorum not being reached
by the Grant County Planning Commission, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found the property is
outside of the Columbia Basin Project farm units, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the land in
question will not be approved for an agriculture well permit, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the soils on this
property will not support agricultural uses due to lack of water, soil depth, and rocks, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that this is the best
use of this parcel of land, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the developer
will comply with fire/safety requirements as imposed by Grant County Fire District #3, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have conditioned approval of
said zone change on a ten (10) acre minimum lot size, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have conditioned the approval
of said zone change on the developer meeting the requirements as set by the Grant County Fire
Marshal, the Grant County Public Works Department, the Grant County Health District and all
other agencies with jurisdiction, and;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County
Commissioners for Grant County, Washington does hereby amend the Grant County
Comprehensive Plan and the official Zoning Map for Grant County to the effect that the following
described property shall henceforth be zoned as S-A (Suburban -Agriculture):
A portion of West one-half of the West one-half of Section 8, Township 20 North, Range
29 East, W.M., Grant County, Washington. Site consists of 160.00 acres.
