Earth Day 25
Proclamation
RESOLUTION NO. 95 -32 -CC
Whereas; the 25th anniversary of Earth Day is celebrated this April 22, 1995, and activities
and projects will be taking place all across Washington State during Countdown To Earth
Day, April 1- 22,1995, and
Whereas, Grant County is involved in efforts to conserve our environment and resources,
including waste reduction, recycling, and household hazardous waste, and
Whereas; the purpose of Earth Day and Countdown To Earth Day is to commit ourselves
to changing the way we live and learn how to care for Earth's environment and resources,
and
Whereas; emphasis will be on understanding how to conserve the Earth's resources,
reduce waste, and educate ourselves on hazardous household chemicals, and
Whereas; Grant County is committed to being part of the solution by working together
with our citizens, schools, community organizations, businesses, and churches,
Now, therefore we, the Grant County Commissioners, do hereby officially declare April
1-22, 1995, Countdown To Earth Day, and April 22 Earth Day 25 in Grant County, and
encourage every person to participate in as many environmental activities as they can be
involved in now, and throughout the year.
