HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - BOCCCOMMISSIONERS' PROCEEDINGS Week of October 9,1995 The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Tim Snead. All of the Commissioners were in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding session as written. The Commissioners approved the request for ten days leave without pay for Communications Officer Michael Pauley. The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Sheryl Asher of the Sheriff's Department to 90 percent of control salary. The Commissioners approved the starting salary for Steven Ramsvic of the Sheriff's Department at 90 percent of control salary for Corrections Officer. The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Yuriko Brito of the Fair Office to 100 percent effective December 1,1995. The Commissioners were notified by the Teamsters Union that the Corrections Department Bargaining Unit had ratified the 1995/1996 Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Commissioners received an ordinance annexing certain lands to the Town of George. The Commissioners signed the Interagency Mutual Aid Agreement with Port District #4 and Grant County Department of Emergency Management. The Commissioners set a Public Hearing regarding the City of Ephrata Interim Urban Growth Area for Tuesday, October 24,1995 at 7:00 p.m. Chairman Snead was authorized to sign the Mutual Aid Agreement between Grant County and the City of Quincy. The Commissioners signed the 1995 Dispatch Agreement between the Grant County Sheriff's Office and Quincy Valley Hospital. The Commissioners set a Public Meeting for October 23,1995 at 1:30 p.m. regarding the plat alteration request of Greg and Marla Huff. As there was no further business to come before the Board the session was continued until October 10,1995. October 10,1995 The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding WSDOE Coordinated Prevention Grant Applications, Bid Authorization -Recycling Drop Boxes, D L & I Citation, Adopt -a -Road, Nelson Road Improvement Proposal. The Commissioners were notified that Mae Valley Road and B -NW Road projects were built in accordance with the plans and specifications, and that all materials incorporated into the project met contract specifications. The Commissioners signed the Authorization to Call for Bids for four 30 cu. yd. Four -Section Recycling Drop Boxes with an option to purchase three to five additional units. Bid opening to be held October 31,1995 at 10:30 a.m. The Commissioners approved the request by Winona Campbell for leave without pay from October 16,1995 to November 20,1995. The Commissioners approved the request for budget extensions in the Juvenile Department Budget. Chairman Snead was authorized to sign the order regarding re -sale of Tax Title Property requested by Phillip R. Griesse. The Commissioners signed the Public Works Claims Fund Voucher Approval #9-1 through #9-179 in the total amount of $1,618,031.42. The Commissioners were notified that John Jurovich of the Sheriff's Department was resigning effective October 11,1995. Chairman Snead was authorized to sign the contract extension on the Employee Assistance Program and to approve the addition of legal referral services through Legal Consult Line. The Commissioners set a Public Hearing for October 31,1995 at 1:30 p.m. regarding the Reza and Deborah Firouzi application for zone change on 53 acres in a portion of Section 24, Township 19 N., Range 27 E., W.M. As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 10/9/95 in the total amount of $461,509.38. As there was no further business to come before the Board the session was adjourned until October 16,1995.
